North Sevier Youth Court

Purpose:
In a partnership with Sevier County Attorneys Office, Juvenile Court, and Sevier School District; the North Sevier Youth Court will offer a diversion program providing alternative disposition for cases involving juvenile offenders.  This disposition should be based on the balanced approach.  The balanced approach includes consideration to accountability, competency development, and community protection.

 Goals:

A.                To provide youth offenders an alternative to Juvenile Court in order to prevent continuation into the justice system.

B.                 To afford individual accountability.

C.                 To increase competency development.

D.                Educate youth offenders and staff in the criminal justice system.

E.                 Provide a productive service opportunity for volunteers and offenders.
